JJF 1815-2020 Calibration Specification for Class ll Biosafety Cabinets

Biosafety cabinet (BSC) is a negative pressure filtering and ventilating cabinet, which can prevent the operator and the environment from being exposed to the biological polluting aerosol generated during the experiment. It is widely used in medical and health, disease control and prevention, food safety, biopharmaceuticals, environmental monitoring, and various biological laboratories.

At present, Class II biological safety cabinets have created a larger market due to their wide application and popularity.

Although the domestic produced Class II biological safety cabinets can basically meet the requirements of biopharmaceutical industries, but they also have some shortcomings like: too many models, uneven performance and quality, and lack of standard specifications, different calibration projects and parameters, different testing operations and uncertainty evaluation, which seriously affect the development of the market.

The standard will be officially implemented from April 17, 2020.
